I am an illustrator based outside Kristianstad in southern Sweden. My illustrations are mainly aimed at picture books and illustrated fiction for children around ages 4–8, but I’m also interested in illustrated chapter books and read-aloud books for slightly older children.
In my images, I try to create warm and lively children’s book worlds — with emotion, humour, small magical moments and details to discover. I’m especially drawn to scenes where something is just about to happen, and where imagination and reality naturally intertwine.
This colour palette is a conscious choice in this portfolio selection, and I personally like its warm, slightly nostalgic atmosphere. At the same time, I see colour as something that should serve the specific book project. For a concrete assignment, I would be happy to adapt the palette to the story, the age group and the publisher’s visual direction — including brighter and clearer colours when that suits the project.
Below are scenes from three fictional family worlds — Skruvsson, von Vrål and Klang — showing variation in setting, mood and pacing.
